Dear Sir/Madame,
My name is Maria Aliki Latsinoglou, I am 25 years old, and I live in Athens. I have graduated from the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Additionally, I have started my postgraduate studies in the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) at the University of Bolton in London.
The reason that motivated me to study this field is my deep interest in the field of HRM. I consider it an exceptionally fascinating domain because it offers a wide array of opportunities for engagement across various sectors within an organization, business, or company. HR departments have a crucial role for the function of firms because are the link between employees, employers and stakeholders and they are called constantly to find solutions for any possible problems and fix the ones that already exist, since they know everything about the company not only from an inside aspect but also from an outside one Which I find very interesting and challenging. Furthermore, it is a rapidly evolving field both in Greece and globally.
I believe that my degree from the Department of Communication and Media Studies has not only provided me with additional skills but has also boosted my existing communication abilities, which are essential for the successful execution of the requirements in this particular role. My successful completion and evaluation of courses in Organizational Communication, Management, and Marketing in Media and Public Relations have laid a strong foundation for broadening my horizons in the field of human resource management.
Moreover, my daily interactions with the customers have exposed me to their way of thinking, knowledge that is particularly crucial for the development of an organization, business, or company. Lastly, the knowledge I have gained from my previous work experiences, such as data entry, report writing, and familiarity with the ERGANI system, are skills that are frequently useful, especially in this role that I am applying for.
In my recent role as an HR back officer, I had the opportunity to be a part of various HR tasks. I handled the procedures of hiring, departures, and schedule adjustments, so I became more familiar with systems like ERGANI and accounting software programs such as Lavisoft & Navision, as well as data entry tools such as HR Manager, FCS, FCMS, and Jira Work Management. During my time in this position, I developed strong multitasking skills, which are essential in HR. I learned how to manage a company’s workforce by organizing events, resolving conflicts, and addressing internal procedures and policies, including document management and protocols, regulations, and invoicing. I also learned tasks like stamp counting and conducted exit interviews, which offer valuable feedback to improve company policies and strategies.
As a character, I consider myself quite flexible, patient, and communicative. I am a team player and strive to collaborate effectively with others. I constantly enjoy learning new things, evolving, and challenging myself. Some negative aspects of my personality include being anxious and stubborn. My stubbornness occurs more because when I set a goal, I am determined to achieve it.
In conclusion, I believe that I am a communicative person. This is a result, both my undergraduate degree in Communication and Media Studies and the coursework I have undertaken, including Organizational Communication, Management, and Marketing in Media and Public Relations, have contributed to the growth of my existing skills. Furthermore, my prior work experience in customer service roles is valuable for objection handling and any potential problems that might happen in a company. As I previously mentioned, I believe that I can excel in this role and embark on my initial professional steps within the sector of my studies.
Sincerely,
Maria Aliki Latsinoglou
